Donald S. Falk
Executive Director
Donald Falk began his tenure as Executive Director in October of 2005. Previously, he was TNDC’s longtime Director of Housing Development for 11 years. He played a principal role in guiding the organization through a period of profound growth as our portfolio of properties increased from nine to 23 buildings. Prior to TNDC, Don worked for 12 years at Jubilee West, a nonprofit housing organization based in West Oakland. Among his roles there were Interim Co-Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Director of Housing Development. Don’s credentials also include a Masters in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. with honors in Economics and Urban Studies from Oberlin College, OH. Don served for seven years on the Board of Directors of the Nonprofit Housing Association of Northern California and is currently a member of the Enterprise Network Advisory Board and the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association Housing Policy Task Force.
Elizabeth Orlin
Chief Operating Officer
Elizabeth Orlin joined TNDC in June of 2007 as Chief Operating Officer. Prior, she served as Associate Director for the Corporation for Supportive Housing in Oakland. She also served as Program Officer and Assistant Program Officer from 1998 through early 2003. Before CSH, Liz worked for the Trustees of Columbia University’s CSS Program in New York where she was a program director and program supervisor, as well as a senior case manager. Liz has completed social work internships from the CSS Program and the Sunset Park Mental Health Clinic in Brooklyn, and began her career in social work at the Women Against Abuse Legal Center in Philadelphia in 1988. She received her Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University in 1994 and in 1991, she received her Master of Social Work degree from New York University. She earned her B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology from Haverford College in 1988.
Paul Sussman
Chief Financial Officer
Paul Sussman was welcomed as TNDC's new Chief Financial Officer in 2004. Prior to joining TNDC, Paul worked for six years as a financial management and business planning consultant to nonprofit organizations, and as a program consultant for several foundations. He was the founding president of the Northern California Community Loan Fund, which he directed for 11 years until 1998. Prior to that, he developed affordable housing for several neighborhood-based San Francisco nonprofit corporations. Paul holds a Master of City Planning degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.
Wendy Chan
Director of Finance
Wendy Chan has served as the Director of Finance since January 2001, and has been at TNDC since 2000. She has fifteen years of senior-level experience in accounting for affordable housing corporations. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from Portland State University, OR.
Diep Do
Director of Housing Development
Diep Do became Director of Housing Development in December 2005, succeeding Donald S. Falk who became Executive Director that year. Previously, she was Senior Project Manager at TNDC for seven years. In this post, she managed the acquisition, financing, design development, and construction of five affordable housing projects, including the renovated Dalt Hotel and the newly built Curran House. Prior to TNDC, Diep worked at Skid Row Housing, an affordable housing organization in Los Angeles, and at the Culver City Redevelopment Agency. She also researched housing policy and legislation at RAND Corporation as part of a national public policy fellowship. At TNDC, Diep oversees a team of five project management staff who are managing eight housing development projects totaling $150 million. Diep received a Masters Degree in Urban Planning and a Bachelors Degree in Urban Studies, with an Asian American Studies minor, from UCLA.
Felicia Scruggs-Wright
Director of Property Management
Felicia Scruggs-Wright joined TNDC’s senior management team as Director of Property Management in September of 2004. She manages the operations of TNDC’s 23 residential buildings and oversees the largest department in the organization with 80% of our personnel dedicated solely to property management functions, including desk clerks, maintenance workers, property and facilities managers, and building supervisors. Prior to TNDC, Felicia oversaw the Property Management Department at the Emergency Housing Consortium in the South Bay and helped manage 18 sites. She also worked at Vestcor Realty Management, Inc. as Regional Property Supervisor in Jacksonville, FL. She has an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Florida Community College. She is a certified apartment manager through the national apartment association, a certified property management candidate through IREM, and a certified housing credit specialist.
Joanna Goldberg
Director of Human Resources
A Community Studies graduate from the University of California at Santa Cruz, Joanna Goldberg holds a Human Resources Management Certificate and is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). At TNDC since 1998, she manages the operations of the Human Resources Department which supports between 220-240 staff. She has experience in the areas of employee relations, benefits administration, project management, education and healthcare outreach.
Yvette Robinson
Director of Tenant Services
Yvette Robinson has held the position of Director of Tenant Services since 1991. She has extensive experience in community development and organizing, and brings a wealth of experience in counseling and women's issues. She holds a B.A. in Social Welfare and Visual Arts from Antioch College, OH.
