Building 98 affordable homes in the Richmond District by 2025*

We envision a future where everyone can thrive, regardless of income, race, spoken language, gender identity, and more. 383 6th Ave (formerly called 4200 Geary) is a key step in helping us build this future by providing 98 affordable homes for seniors with low incomes in San Francisco (between 15-50% AMI), including veterans and seniors who were formerly unhoused.

Located in the Inner Richmond, 383 6th Ave will be a seven-story building centering tenant needs. With onsite social workers, front desk coverage, and property management, tenants will have a built-in support network to help them adjust to their new home, feel welcome, and remain stably housed.

In addition to onsite support, 383 6th Ave will include a roof deck, landscaped outdoor spaces, a community room with a warming kitchen, and energy efficient fixtures and appliances. Notably, the building design will incorporate features that encourage aging in place, such as wayfinding signage with large text and symbols. The ground-floor will feature a community-serving commercial space and the building exterior will include a public art piece! Notably, 383 6th Ave will seek a Platinum GreenPoint rating and is a member of the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) Living Building Challenge.

Construction started in early 2023 and residents are scheduled to move in by 2025.
