Eddy Street Apartments
Serving 61 families with low incomes including people who experienced homelessness
939 & 951 Eddy is comprised of two adjacent four-story buildings with a total of 61 dwelling units which are currently owned and operated by the San Francisco Housing Authority (SFHA). As part of HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration Program (RAD), TNDC was selected to acquire, rehabilitate, and assume long-term management and maintenance of the property. Upon completion of the rehab in 2016, the project will include 36 studio, 1 one-bedroom, 21 two-bedroom, and 3 three-bedroom units, and an additional two-bedroom unit that will function as an on-site manager’s unit. Major improvements to the project include: a seismic/structural upgrade; roof replacement; in-unit upgrades including accessibility improvements; upgrading of the elevators and major mechanical and electrical systems; as well as the building out of a larger community room for residents. Construction is anticipated to begin in October 2015, and will largely be conducted with residents in place during the rehabilitation.
